• Starting: $76,360 - $91,908 (dependent on experience)

  Top out salary: $102,272

Position Details

The Lake in the Hills Police Department is seeking qualified, experienced police officers to join our community.

Our department is made up of some of the most dedicated, highly trained, community oriented police officers in the country. We're looking for officers who are willing to serve and protect the Village of Lake in the Hills and make a profound difference in the community.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Must possess current Law Enforcement Officer Certification and have been employed in a full time law enforcement capacity for a minimum of 24 months. The totality of the individual's law enforcement training and work experience will be considered.
• United States citizen
• 21 years of age at time of appointment
• Must possess a valid Driver's License at the time of application with the ability to obtain an Illinois Driver's License upon time of hire.
• Must have proof of High School Diploma, GED Certificate or High School Proficiency Statement
• Must reside within a 20 air mile radius of the corporate limits of the Village of Lake in the Hills at the end of the established probationary period (12 months)
• Must have eyesight correctable to 20/20 with normal color vision.

• Qualified candidates will be interviewed by the department's selection committee and Command staff if recommended.
• The selected candidate will be required to complete a:
• Physical agility test
• Psychological examination
• Medical examination
