Position Details

The Franklin Park Fire Department is currently hiring Firefighter/Paramedics with IMMEDIATE OPENINGS available!

We are seeking motivated, dedicated and service-oriented individuals to join our team.

The Franklin Park Fire Department consists of 43 sworn full-time members including 1-Fire Chief, 3-Battalion Chiefs, 9-Lieutenants and 30 Firefighter/Paramedics. who operate out of 2 fully staffed stations and 1 reserve station. Minimum staffing is 11 per day. The department responded to more than 4,000 calls for service last year including Fire, EMS, Haz-Mat, Water Rescue and Technical Rescue.

Preference Points awarded for:

• Basic Operations Firefighter (BOF) Certification
• Bilingual
• Education (associate's degree or higher)
• Franklin Park Residency
• Veterans 

All applicants must meet the following requirements:

• At least 21 years of age and not older than 35 years of age at time of hire except as provided by Illinois Statute 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6
• U.S. Citizen
• Valid Driver's License
• Licensed IDPH Paramedic at time of application
• Valid CPAT with Ladder Climb
• Basic Operations Firefighter (BOF) is preferred but NOT required
