Position Details

The Village of Wheeling is accepting applications for the position of Community Service Officer in the Police Department.

The Community Service Officer provides support to sworn personnel by:

• Responding to non-emergency calls for service
• Assisting the public
• Enforcing Village ordinances and parking regulations
• Handling animal-related complaints
• Assisting with community events and safety initiatives
• Performing other duties that support the day-to-day operations of the Police Department 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Training or experience in animal control, handling, or related techniques, as well as training or experience working with the public, preferably in a law enforcement or public safety setting.
