Description:

We are looking for gifted and seasoned instructors to conduct hands-on, end-user and administrator instruction for Motorola Solutions' VESTA products and systems. This adjunct instructing position involves traveling throughout North America to train public safety customers.

What you Bring:

It's important that you be a subject-matter expert in 9-1-1 operations, technology, or other 9-1-1-related fields and you have a verifiable track record as an instructor.

You will excel in this role if you have a blend of the following traits and skills:

• An innate adaptability to effectively tailor and enhance the customer's education experience
• The Key Skills and Basic requirements outlined below 

Key Skills:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience operating VESTA 9-1-1 or VESTA NXT in a PSAP environment.
• Expert-level knowledge is imperative.
• Your experience as an Administrator/Call Taker/Agent or as a PSAP Director is highly desirable.
• Deep working knowledge of call handling workflows, CAD integration, NG911 architecture, and the full VESTA feature set.
• Familiarity with the broader NG911 ecosystem (routing, GIS, text-to-911, ACD).
• Experience with VESTA implementation, upgrades, or configuration is a strong plus.
• 3+ years of Technical presentation/teaching experience. It is highly preferred that this is within a PSAP environment with a focus on public safety communication systems, solutions, and applications. 5+ years prior experience would be ideal.
• You must truly care that people learn.
• You also must learn quickly, easily retain what you learn and naturally incorporate your knowledge while teaching others.
• Be highly dependable, trustworthy and conscientious in an environment with low supervision and high impact and visibility.
• Exhibit strong skills in project management, interpersonal communication, and time management.
• You must be a decisive self-starter with the ability to perform effectively during times of ambiguity and maintain your sense of humor while doing so.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively to deliver training on-site with your public safety customers across North America.
• Comfortable operating in a full training environment: managing files in cloud-based tools (Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.), presenting from PowerPoint or similar, navigating unfamiliar customer networks, and troubleshooting minor technical issues on the fly without IT support. (You'll often be the only technical resource in the room...). 

Preferred (not required):

• APCO CTO or NENA Instructor Development Program certification, or equivalent formal training in adult learning/instructional methodology 

Basic Requirements:

• A current Driver's license (issued by a U.S. State) with personal comfort driving in unfamiliar regions before and after sometimes long days.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Must be eligible to obtain background clearances as required by government customers.
