• Full-Time Starting: $31.25/hour ($65,000 per year)

  • Plus benefits 

  Part-Time: $30.00/hour (minimum of 16 hours per month required to remain on roster)

  • Plus PTO

Position Details

Minimum Qualifications include but not limited to the following:

• Minimum of 21 years of age
• U. S. Citizen
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Illinois Driver's License, with good driving record
• Valid Illinois FOID Card
• Must be currently certified and eligible for a waiver with Illinois ILETSB
• Military must submit proof of an Honorable Discharge
• No felony convictions or any convictions of moral turpitude
• No professional conduct reports, terminations or history of domestic violence
• Must pass an oral interview, physical exam and drug screen and any other testing as deemed by the Village
• Must reside within 30 miles of Somonauk

All submissions will be reviewed by the Chief of Police and Village Administrator. Those selected to proceed with the application process will be invited to fill out an application and will be advised further on the application process as determined by the Village of Somonauk.
