Position Details

North East Multi-Regional Training, MTU # 3, seeks an Accounting Specialist with experience in accounting functions including payables/receivables, preparing fiscal reports, expenditure tracking, and other general accounting practices.

This individual will organize, coordinate, and manage all of the basic accounting functions at NEMRT, a non-profit corporation operating as Mobile Team Unit # 3 of the ASSIST program.

NEMRT uses its $3M + annual budget to provide basic, refresher, advanced and specialized training to local law enforcement agencies.

The main responsibilities of this position are maintaining the organization's payable and receivable accounts, coordinating with the contractual accountant, assisting with the annual audit, maintaining various internal spreadsheets, preparing fiscal reports, and handling grant reimbursements.

Qualifications:

An associate's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training and progressively responsible accounting, bookkeeping, finance or administrative experience may be considered.

• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial administration, or related administrative operations
• Experience supporting audits, financial reporting, invoicing and grant administration
• Experience working with governmental, nonprofit, public sector or training organizations
