Position Details
Position Overview:
The Police Records Clerk assists in processing, maintaining, and disseminating police reports, citations, and electronic communications in accordance with Federal laws, Illinois State statutes, and local ordinances. This full-time, non-exempt position provides service to the public by assisting with complaints and providing information.
Essential Duties:
- Maintain the Municipal Systems, Inc. database and oversee Administrative Adjudication Hearings.
- Monitor LEADS messages and maintain the police warrant file.
- Process FOIA requests and criminal history inquiries.
- Process TechShare, evidence, and court-ordered requests.
- Enter and maintain law enforcement database records accurately.
- Answer non-emergency calls and monitor Village video systems.
- Operate software and office equipment for public safety data processing.
- Review reports, tickets, and bonds; maintain confidentiality.
- Assist the Real-Time Crime Center and obtain Part-107 drone license.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- High integrity and ability to manage confidential information.
- Knowledge of Records Section functions, laws, codes, and office procedures.
- Ability to operate law enforcement databases and Microsoft Word.
- Ability to perform light physical activity (kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling).
- Ability to recognize similarities/differences in colors, shapes, and sounds; sustained visual focus.

- Experience in FOIA processing and municipal procedures.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Work Environment:
- Work involves repetitive computer use, interaction with the public, exposure to irate individuals, and light physical activity. Risk of injury is minimal.
