City/County/Area Information:

Morton Grove is a close knit community with a strong economic base located in Cook County, Illinois.  The Police Department is an integral part of the community, and enjoys the support of the civilian leadership of the municipality.

Job Requirements:

• Age: 21
• US Citizen: Yes, or lawful permanent resident alien and meet all State and Federal eligibility requirements to be a law enforcement officer
• High School Grad/GED: Yes
• Valid State Driver’s License: Yes
• Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
• Vision: Vision correctable to 20/20 and free from colorblindness
• College: Associate's Degree or equivalent college credit hours (60 hours)
• Academy Certification: No
• Prior Experience: No
• Necessary Certifications: POWER test card dated no earlier than 1 year prior to application deadline 

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to pass all selection and training requirements
• Agree to a two-year reimbursement of expenses
• No felony convictions (Note: a misdemeanor or serious traffic offense may also disqualify applicants from further consideration)
• Applicants must be under 35 years of age when placed on the eligibility list except as otherwise provided by  Illinois State Statute.
