Minimum Requirements and Qualifications at time of application:
United States citizen or permanent resident
Be currently employed, on a full-time basis, as a police officer with a regularly constituted Illinois municipal police department
Individuals must be at least 23 years old
Education- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
One of the following:
Successful completion of at least 30 semester hours (or their equivalent in quarter or trimester hours) of credit from an accredited college or university (copy of official transcripts due with application) OR
At least 12 months of active service in any branch of the United States military with an honorable discharge or medical discharge
Experience- Current status as a Police Officer for not less than two (2) years and currently in good standing in the Police Department in which the person serves or in laid-off status due to financial restraints only. Also, must possess substantially equivalent skills and abilities as a current Village of Westchester Police Officer.
Valid Driver's License
Must agree to comply with all requirements of the position and have the ability to pass all examination and training requirements.
