The Police Inspector will conduct all internal investigations including those generated by citizen complaints, outside agencies and members of the Dolton Police Department. Department policy updates, deployment and training will be a primary focus for this position. The Police Inspector will conduct thorough background checks for police lateral and new recruit hires, and enforce policy relative to police personnel out on IOD or placed on administrative leave. The position will also assist with Command Staff level administrative projects.
The Police Inspector has a critical role within the Dolton Police Department requiring a high degree of professionalism, maturity, impartiality and confidentiality. The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across a variety of networks is crucial.
