Position Details

Welcome to the Village of Buffalo Grove Firefighter/Paramedic original appointment application process, conducted by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.

This process is designed to provide interested and eligible applicants the opportunity to qualify for ranking on an eligibility list from which new hires for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic will be selected during a two year period from January 2020 through January 2022.

Attendance at an orientation meeting and written examination is MANDATORY for all applicants.

Orientation and written examination will be held:

Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.

Completed event tickets must be presented at the orientation and testing to verify that you have paid the $20.00 (plus $2.85 processing fee).

You must complete ALL of the following steps before your application is considered complete:

3. Sign-up for Orientation and pay the application fee here.
4. Print out Orientation ticket for confirmation and bring to the orientation and written examination along with photo ID for verification.

In order to qualify for the list, all elements of the testing process must be completed successfully, starting with personal attendance at the scheduled orientation and written examination where application materials will be collected and information regarding the testing process reviewed.
