Position Details

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The paramedic administers advanced life support to sick and injured persons in pre-hospital settings as authorized and directed by a physician, including protocols, and assesses the extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed.

Paramedics will work a traditional 24-hour on-duty and 48-hour off-duty schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Citizen of the United States
• Good physical condition
• Valid driver's license with a good record
• Shall have a valid Illinois Paramedic license
• ACLS, PALS, and AHA CPR certifications by the time of application

POST-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• Complete a 12-month probationary period in good standing
