Annual salary is set at $66,701.97. Step increases are set by contract. The current contract expires on November 30, 2028.
National Testing Network (NTN)
Candidates are required to complete NTN’s REACT Test, PSSA and PHQ to move forward in the hiring process. There is a $41 testing fee.

Testing is being conducted to establish an eligibility list for current and future hiring needs.
The testing process includes a written exams via NTN, C.A.T (Corrections Agility Test), oral interview, an in-depth application and background investigation, polygraph exam, fingerprints, psychological exam, and full medical exam including a drug-screening test will. All will be performed before being hired.

Step 3 - Oral Interview and C.A.T. Test (Corrections Agility Test):
Candidates who successfully pass the written exam with a 70% or higher will be scheduled for an interview and agility test. Both the interview and agility test will be held on the same day. You will be notified via email once the written exam has been completed.
The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office C.A.T. test will be held on the same day as the oral interview and is loosely based on the IL Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board P.O.W.E.R Test. The applicant has one of two options:

After the applicant has successfully passed the written exam, corrections agility test and the oral interview, the applicant will be placed on a certified list of applicants. Once certified the applicant will be on the list until a position is available at which time the applicant will finish the testing process. The eligibility list will be good for 18 months from the date of the certification.
