Salary:

• Starting: $26.00/hour ($54,080) with 1-year probationary period

  New hires:

  • 2-5 complete years of full-time solo experience start at $28/hour ($58,240)
  • 5 + complete years of full-time solo experience start at $29/hour ($60,320)
  • 0 full-time experience but 5+ years of part-time experience start at $26.00/hour ($54,080) 

  $.50 increase at 6 months, another $.50/hour at the completion of 1 year

  Training incentives of additional $.50/hour for each:

  • FTO
  • Juvenile Officer
  • CIT
  • Sex Assault Investigator (can be obtained through training if not already certified)

QUALIFICATIONS FOR BOTH FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME:

• 21 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Minimum State of Illinois Part-Time Law Enforcement Certification
• No Felony convictions or criminal history indicating moral turpitude
• Open Availability to include nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to pass any requirements including, but not limited to, physical and drug screen
• Ability to pass in-depth criminal, personal, and financial background investigation

The Mackinaw Police Department covers a village of 1,900 citizens in southeast Tazewell County and is staffed by both full time and part time police officers with varying degrees of experience.
