Firefighter Minimum Requirements:

• $25 application fee
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• No felony conviction
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be 21 years old by date of written exam; maximum age of under 35 years unless the age limit is reached after being placed on Eligibility List (unless otherwise exempt)
• Valid driver’s license
• Applicants must submit proof of a valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and Approved Ladder Climb card from a licensed agency by the time of written examination. Cards must be dated no earlier than November 8, 2023
• Vision correctable to 20/20 in both eyes and free from color blindness
• Pass a comprehensive pre-employment screening process to include:
• background investigation
• polygraph
• psychological and medical examination with drug testing

Preference Points will be given for the following:

• Military Veteran Status
• EMT-Paramedic Certification
• OSFM Basic Operations Firefighter Certification

Optional Orientation:

An optional orientation will be held in:

September 2024

The orientation will be presented through a Zoom Meeting. Additional details on the orientation will be provided at a later date.

Virtual Testing Information:

The exam will be offered electronically, and you will take the exam in your own home. There will be multiple sessions offered and each will be proctored virtually. All sessions will be offered during business hours during the week of November 4th – no weeknight or weekend times will be available. It is your responsibility to ensure you have the flexibility to test during these times.
