Minimum Requirements:

• $35.00 non-refundable application fee
• Be a United States citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be between at least 20 years old by the application deadline and no older than 40 years of age at time of written exam. Candidates under 21 years of age are invited to apply but will not receive an offer of employment until they have legally turned 21.
• Have a high school diploma (or its equivalent)
• Possess a valid Illinois driver's license
• Possess a valid P.O.W.E.R test card dated within one year from the date of the written exam - Must be dated July 27, 2023 – July 27, 2024
• Be of good moral character and capable of performing the duties of a sworn officer of the State of Illinois
• Must be able to possess a valid FOID card by time of hire
• Not have been convicted of any felony or crimes of moral turpitude
• Must possess a satisfactory driving record
• Be free from the use of illegal drugs
• Willingness to submit to a thorough background investigation designed to measure the applicant's suitability for police work
• Must live within 22 miles of the City of Harvey limits

Check-in will begin at 8:00 AM. Please arrive no later than 8:30 AM. with a photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport military ID) to sign-in. There will be no late admittance.

Candidates that submit a valid power card dated 7/27/2023 – 7/27/2024 to I/O Solutions with their application will not have to participate in the POWER test administered by the Harvey Police Department immediately following the written exam.

Additional details and guidelines will be provided approximately one week before the exam.

All portions of the testing process are mandatory. Failure to attend and successfully complete any portion of the process will result in elimination from employment consideration.
