Position Details

The Marseilles Police Department is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of CERTIFIED Police Officer (Part-Time).

The applicant must:

• Be a United States Citizen
• Be at least 21 years of age (at time of appointment)
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Possess a valid FOID card
• High school graduate or equivalent
• No felony convictions
• Posses and utilize good communication skills
• Must pass background check
• Willingness to work all shifts including weekends and holidays
• Applicants for Police Officer (Part-Time) MUST BE a graduate of either a full or part-time sworn Illinois law enforcement officer training program, currently State of Illinois Certified or have the appropriate training and certification from another state that is compatible with Illinois training requirements set forth by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB)
• Maintain compliance with all ILETSB and Marseilles Police Department training requirements

The applicant for Police Officer (Part-Time) will perform duties to include but not limited to:

• Enforce traffic, criminal laws and local ordinances
• Provide emergency response as needed
• Write accurate, clear, concise and grammatically correct reports
• Traffic crashes
• Attend court as needed
• Handle any and all other duties assigned
