ANNOUNCES FIREFIGHTER APPLICATION AND TEST DATES

CURRENT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR TESTING:

• Must be 20 at the time of testing, 21 at time of hire and have not attained the age of 35
• Must be a United States citizen, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and have no felony convictions
• Applicants with eyesight restrictions must comply with NFPA 1582 – 20/30 corrected
• Valid CPAT card/with ladder climb, driver’s license and EMT-B License
• Residency within 30 miles from main station

ADDITIONAL PREFERENCE POINTS WILL BE AWARDED TO THE APPLICANT IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

• Military service in the armed Forces with an honorable discharge
• An Associate’s Degree in a fire related field or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
• Valid Paramedics license
• Employment – firefighters or firefighters-paramedics employed full-time by a fire protection district or by another municipality for at least two (2) years.

Examination is for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Eligibility list will remain in effect for two (2) years.
