Position Details

The Freeport Police Department is looking for a Telecommunications Supervisor.

This position is appointed by the Chief of Police and under the direction Administrative Lieutenant shall assume authority over and supervise all aspects of the Police Department’s Telecommunications Center and all personnel assigned to operate those systems.

Qualifications: 

• The qualified candidate will possess a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience of public safety dispatch experience
• LEADS certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
• EMD certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Training Officer Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Ability to work under pressure, exercising good judgement, and making sound, timely decisions in emergency and non-emergency situations
• Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing during emergency and non-emergency situations
