Minimum Requirements: 

• United States Citizenship
• No felony convictions
• Valid State of Illinois Driver’s License
• High school diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Must be 21 to 35 years of age by date of hire unless otherwise exempt by State Statute
• Applicants must be no more than 35 years of age by date of hire unless otherwise exempt by State statute
• Illinois OSFM Firefighter II/Basic Operations Firefighter Certificate
• Must possess a valid IDPH EMT – Paramedic license at time of hire
• Valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) card and approved Ladder Climb card due at time of application deadline and must be dated 01/09/2023 – 01/09/2024
• Candidates can register for the CPAT/Ladder Climb at one of the locations linked below or another certified testing facility
• Central Illinois Fire Chiefs Association
• NIPSTA
• MABAS

Orientation and Testing:

Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation and written examination on:

Exact details will be provided to those eligible to test. All portions of the testing process are mandatory. Failure to attend and successfully complete any portion of the process will result in elimination from employment consideration.
