Position Details

The Board of Fire & Police Commission for The Village of Romeoville, Illinois, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Police Officer, without regard to race, color, creed, gender or ethnic origin, to establish an eligibility registry for current and future openings in the Romeoville Police Department.

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States.
• Age Requirement: Must be at least 20 years of age and under 35 years of age at the time of written examination but must be at least 21 years of age at time of appointment, unless the candidate qualifies for an exemption as a veteran and/or police officer as provided by state statutes.
• Driver's License: Must possess a valid Driver's License at the time of application with ability to obtain an Illinois Driver's License upon time of hire.
• Education: Must have proof of High School Diploma, GED Certificate or High School Proficiency Statement. 

MANDATORY ORIENTATION AND WRITTEN EXAMINATION:

Saturday, December 9, 2023

Sign in process will start at 9:00 AM and the Orientation will start at 10:00 AM.

The Written Examination will follow immediately after the Orientation.

A photo I.D. with signature will be required for your admission into the Orientation.

SUBMISSION OF REGISTRATION:

Police Officer Entry Level Registrations will only be available online at the Village Website:

From November 13, 2023 and must be completed by December 4, 2023.

Failure to do so will disqualify you from attending the Orientation and Written Examination.
