Position Details

IMMEDIATE OPENINGS

The Village of Dolton is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Police Officer (full-time).

Requirements:

• The candidate must be certified as a Full Time Police Officer AND be in good standing with the Illinois State Training and Standards Board.
• Candidates who have Part Time Certifications are encouraged to apply as well.
• Upon completion of FTO, candidates will be sent to the 2 week transition course for their full time certification.
• The candidate must not have surpassed his/her 39th birthday at the time of appointment.
• If the candidate is not currently working as a full time police officer the candidate must not have been out of police service for more than 24 months.
• A complete and thorough background investigation will be conducted on each candidate selected to move forward in the hiring process. 

Additional requirements include:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid drivers license with a satisfactory driving history.
• Satisfactory employment history (no discipline issues).
• Must be a citizen of the United States.
• Must be of good moral character.
