Position Details

The Round Lake Beach Police Department is actively seeking Experienced Police Officers for Immediate Lateral Entry.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications and requirements at the time of application:

• State of Illinois certification by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB).
• Out of state certifications may qualify under the ILETSB’s reciprocity process. Those who are certified out of state may inquire about eligibility with Commander Grace at pgrace@roundlakebeachil.gov
• United States citizen
• Individuals must be at least 21 years old
• Education - High school education or equivalent thereof
• Experience – at least 2 years of consecutive full time sworn service with a police department
• Valid Driver’s License 

Selection Process:

Process includes:

• Pre-screening interview by police department command staff
• Character and background investigation and credit check
• Interview with Police Commission
• Post-offer examinations including but not limited to:
• Psychological evaluation
• Medical examination
• Vision screening
• Drug screening
