VILLAGE OF WHEELING

COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER

The Village of Wheeling Police Department seeks qualified applicants for the position of Community Service Officer.

This position:

• Relieves sworn personnel with various duties including signing complaints and issuing citations/testifying in court for violations of the Village of Wheeling Municipal Code
• Assists the general public with requests-for-service
• Completes assignments of animal complaints
• Provides relief to police telecommunicator dispatching team members
• Appear as witness before court in reference to issuance of citations
• Assist in processing crime scenes under a supervisor’s direction 

Expectation of working all shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

• Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience working with the public 
• Valid State of Illinois driver’s license required
