Position Details

The Willow Springs, Illinois, Board of Police Commissioners is currently accepting applications for Probationary Police Officers to establish an eligibility list for full-time Police Officers.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Valid Driver's License
• High School graduate or GED, possess an Associate's Degree in the field of law enforcement, or have at least thirty (30) minimum educational credits hours from an accredited college or university.
• No felony convictions
• If hired, must be physically fit to pass the POWER test upon entering an Illinois Police Academy
• At least 20 years of age at the time of application and under 35 years of age as of date of written exam, unless otherwise exempt by Statute.
• Every applicant must be of good moral character, of temperate habits, of sound heath and must be physically able to perform the duties of the position of Police Officer. 

Application Requirements:

• $40 non-refundable testing fee.
• Applications will be available beginning March 1, 2022.
• Completed application, with all required documents, deadline is 4:00 PM (CST) on March 18, 2022.
• Only thirty (30) applications will be given out for this process.

Notice to Police Officer Applicants:

The Village of Willow Springs will be utilizing a third-party vendor to administer the written examination.

Those candidates whose applications meet the basic requirements for the position will be directed to contact the vendor and schedule an appointment to take the exam. The appointment will require approximately 3 hours and all scheduled appointments must be completed prior to Friday, April 8, 2022.

If you are found to meet the basic requirements for the position, you will be provided with a telephone number and address for the vendor and it will be your responsibility to schedule the appointment. Qualified applicants will be contacted during the week of March 21, 2022 and informed of their status. Do not contact the Police Department or Police Commission as you will be notified as soon as information is available.
