The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the City of Harvard, Illinois is accepting applications to the position of police officer with the Harvard Police Department.

All Applicants Must Meet the Following
Minimum Requirements:
At least 21 years of age and no more than 35 years of age (unless exempt by Illinois statute) at the time of the written examination
U.S. Citizen who speaks, reads, writes and understands English
Successfully completed at least 60 hours of college credit at a fully accredited college or university, prior to the date of the written examination
Possess a valid driver’s license
Submit a valid Illinois P.O.W.E.R Test certification valid from NIPSTA (only NIPSTA POWER cards will be accepted) within six months of the date of application posting (must be obtained on or after January 14, 2017 through NIPSTA)
No Felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for crimes of moral turpitude
Pay a $40.00 non-refundable application fee
Submit application online before the deadline date of Friday, July 14, 2017 @ 4:00 PM CST (incomplete applications will not be accepted and will disqualify the applicant)
Attend a mandatory orientation and written examination on Saturday, August 5, 2017

Valid driver's license
Social Security Card
Birth certificate
Valid Illinois POWER certificate/card (issued through NIPSTA) dated no earlier than 1/14/17
High school diploma or GED certificate
Copy of OFFICIAL college or university transcripts showing at least 60 earned credits
$40.00 non-refundable application fee
For any applicant with military experience, a copy of your Military Service Record DD-214 form
