Notice of Firefighter Examination to Establish an Eligibility List

The Village of Romeoville, Illinois, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Firefighter, without regard to race, color, creed, gender or ethnic origin, to establish an eligibility list for current and future openings in the Romeoville Fire Department.

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a citizen of the United States.
• Must be at least 20 years of age and under 35 years of age at the time of written examination but must be at least 21 years of age at time of appointment, unless the candidate qualifies for an exemption as a veteran and/or firefighter as provided by state statutes.
• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Valid driver's license at time of appointment.
• Illinois licensed EMT-P, at time of hire. Applicants enrolled in a State of Illinois IDPH approved paramedic program shall be allowed to complete the testing process. Applicants must provide proof of enrollment in thew program by submitting a letter from the organization sponsoring their enrollment or by the course administrator, on their letterhead.
• Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) Certificate that includes ladder climb, at time of hire.

MANDATORY ORIENTATION AND WRITTEN EXAMINATION:

Saturday October 30, 2021

The sign in process will start at 9:00 AM and the Orientation will start at 10:00 AM.

The Written Examination will follow immediately after the Orientation.

A photo I.D. with signature will be required for your admission into the Orientation.

Failure to do so will disqualify you from attending the Orientation and Written Examination.
