Firefighter Job Application

Roberts Park Minimum Requirements: 

• $40 non-refundable application fee which will grant access to both departments
• Applicant must be a U.S. citizen
• At least 21 years of age at time of hire and under 35 years of age
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid Driver's License
• Current CPAT and Ladder Climb card - required at date of hire
• Be certified as a Basic Operations Firefighter or Firefighter II through the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal
• State of Illinois Licensed Paramedic (IDPH EMT-P) - required at date of hire

Testing and Orientation Information:

Orientation:

Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation on:

Candidates will receive a study guide for the written examination at the mandatory orientation. Eligible candidates that have attended the mandatory orientation will then be required to sit for the written examination

Oral Interview:

Applicants who successfully pass the written exam will be scheduled for an oral interview with each Fire District.

Roberts Park:

The week of June 14th – 17th 2021 (dates subject to change).

Interview times will be provided to those eligible and interviews will be located at:

North Palos:

Interviews will be held Thursday, June 10th, 2021 and exact times will be provided to those eligible to interview.

All phases of testing are mandatory. If you fail to attend or do not successfully complete the application process, orientation, written exam, oral interview (scheduled after the exam), or any other portion any of the testing process, you will not be eligible for employment consideration at any of the Fire Protection Districts for which you applied.

You will also need to print and sign the required release form and gather required documentation (listed above) for submission to IOS Recruitment by 2:00 p.m. (CST) on 5/6/2021. Failure to complete any portion of the application process will eliminate you for further consideration. No refunds are issued for changed minds, incomplete, or late applications.
