Position Details

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of Schaumburg will be accepting applications beginning Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

The Village of Schaumburg is currently accepting application to create an eligibility list for Police Officer.

Candidates are required to complete:

NTN’s Frontline National Exam and Public Safety Self Assessment (PSSA)

by March 29, 2021 to be considered

Candidates are also required to fill out an online application with the Village of Schaumburg.

HIRING PROCESS:

• Complete the Village of Schaumburg Police application online and complete National Testing Network’s Frontline National exam and Public Safety Self Assessment (PSSA) by March 29, 2021.
• Oral Interview with the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners
• Psychological Exam
• Background Investigation
• Physical Exam 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be Citizen of the United States.
• Applicants shall be under 35 years of age, at the time of application and at such time as the final eligibility list is posted, unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in Section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioner’s Act. Applicants, at such time as they file their application with this board, must be 21 years of age. Proof of birth date will be required at time of application.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university with official transcript required prior to application deadline. College credits are not accepted in lieu of this requirement.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to furnish a copy of a current and valid Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) certification card upon request by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.
