Introduction:

The Village of Wilmette, IL is a vibrant community comprised of many strong neighborhoods, races, religions and levels of income. The Village extends approximately five miles west from Lake Michigan and is approximately one mile wide. Wilmette is about 14 miles north of the Chicago, IL.

Police Officer Minimum Requirements:

• $35.00 non-refundable application processing fee;
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline by application deadline (2/19/2021) *Any applicants graduating in Spring 2021 have until the date of examination to submit up to date transcripts, letter from the registrar on school letterhead, or equivalent document stating an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2021
• U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.;
• Possess a valid driver's license;
• Be 21 years of age, but under 35 years of age by the application deadline;
• The ability to perform the essential functions of the position of Police Officer with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Submit proof of passing the Illinois POWER test within the past year as of 2/19/2021 {POWER test cards considered valid if issued 2/19/2021- 2/ 19/ 2021). 

Orientation and Testing Information:

Candidates must attend the written examination currently scheduled for:

Saturday, March 20, 2021

The exact location will be provided to eligible applicants at a later date.

Based on COVID restrictions at the time, the exam may need to be completed virtually with the @Home Testing, which would take place at the end of March/Early April on a weekday during business hours. Eligible candidates will be updated with exact location and date.
