Salary:

• Starting Pay: $64,154

  • Upon completion of FTO program: $70,039
  • Top Pay at completion after 6 years: $91,835 

  Benefits:

  • Take-Home Squad Car upon completion of FTO Program – Parameters set by the Sheriff for distance.
  • Uniform Allowance $2,100 upon initial hire, $1,700 annually thereafter paid twice a year.
  • Longevity Pay:
  • 4 years $36 per month = $432 per year
  • 7 years $72 per month = $864 per year
  • 10 years $120 per month = $1,200 per year
  • Each additional year after 10 years is an additional $12 per month =
  • Examples: 12 years = $1,728
  • 18 years = $2,592
  • 24 years = $3,456
  • 30 years = $4,320
  • New Hire Lateral Vacation:
  • 2-weeks if hired before June 1
  • 1-week if hired after June 1
  • Vacation Increases at Years of Service:
  • 5 = 3 weeks
  • 10 = 4 weeks
  • 25 = 5 weeks
  • Holidays = 13-Additional Days Off Per Year
  • Premium Paid Holidays (6 days at double time)
  • Court Time = 3 Hour Minimums (if not working)
  • Deputy Sheriff Certification Pay Stipend = .6% of current pay paid in December.
  • Interpreter Pay = $100 per month
  • Specialty Pays (SWAT/Bomb/FTO) $150 per month

  • K9 Program =  7 - K9 handlers utilized in patrol services
  • Numerous Members assigned to Kane County SWAT & Regional WMD Teams
  • Numerous Members assigned to Kane County Auto Reconstruction Team (KCART)
  • Numerous Investigators assigned to Kane County Major Crimes Task Force
  • Numerous Members Assigned to ILEAS Mobile Field Force
  • Numerous Members Assigned to KCSO Drone Team
  • Members assigned to HSI & KCSO Interdiction Teams
