Village of Alsip is now accepting applications for the position of Entry Level Firefighter/Paramedics for Immediate Employment.
Applications are NOT available at the Alsip Fire Department or Village Hall.

Minimum Requirements:
- At least 20 years of age -and- must not have attained their 35th Birthday by the application deadline date (April 29, 2024) unless exempt by 65 ILCS 5/10-2;
- Be a U.S. Citizen and/or legal permanent resident of the United States;
- No felony convictions;
- Possess a valid driver's license;
- Have a High school Diploma or GED equivalent;
- Must be either an Illinois certified Paramedic (EMT-P) -OR- a Nationally Registry Paramedic (NREMT) (If applying from outside of the State of Illinois) -OR- an EMT-B currently enrolled in a paramedic program (proof of enrollment required). Must be a certified paramedic at time of hire;
- Possess an OSFM Certificate Firefighter II -OR- Basic Operations Firefighter Certificate -OR- have a certificate of completion from the Basic Operations Firefighter from the Illinois Fire Service Institute, or the Northern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy, or the Romeoville Fire Academy, or from a Illinois Community College that offers a Basic Operations Firefighter program -OR- equivalent NFPA Firefighter I (out of state applicants) (at time of application);
- Provide a valid CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test Card) with Ladder Climb Certification issued with 12 months of the application deadline date (April 29, 2024);
- Be able to speak, read, and write the English language fluently;
- Must successfully meet all such other requirements as set forth by the Illinois Compiled Statutes and the Alsip Fire and Police Commission Rules and Regulations, such as: attend a mandatory orientation meeting, successfully pass a written examination, oral interview, polygraph test, background investigation, and pass a medical examination and drug test screening by a physician designated by the Village of Alsip;
- All firefighters shall reside within the State of Illinois within six (6) months of completion of their probation;
- Pay a $30.00 non-refundable application processing fee.

Mandatory Oral Interview to be scheduled for later date.
