Position Details
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, or a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient.
- Applicants must meet all other eligibility requirements as provided in the Illinois Compiled Statutes and the Rules and Regulations of the Blue Island Civil Service Commission.
- Applicants must have attained their 21st birthday but not attained their 35th birthday by the date of appointment (unless otherwise, as provided in Section 10-1-7 of the Illinois Municipal Code 65 ICLS 5/10-1-7).
- Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
- Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Applicants must possess a valid P.O.W.E.R. card issued no more than twelve (12) months prior to March 16, 2024, from a duly licensed testing center.

The application must include:
- Copies of driver's license, birth certificate, valid P.O.W.E.R. card, and high school diploma or equivalent
- Copy of Certificate of Completion of Minimum Standards Basic Law Enforcement Training (if applicable).
- Copies of DD-214 (if applicable)
- SEALED original official college transcripts (if applicable).

Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Incomplete applications will result in disqualification.
A non-refundable $50.00 administrative processing fee will be due at application turn in (exact cash only).
