Testing is being conducted to establish an eligibility list for current and future hiring needs.
The testing process includes a written exam, C.A.T (Corrections Agility Test), oral interview, an in-depth application and background investigation, polygraph exam, fingerprints, psychological exam, and full medical exam including a drug-screening test will be performed before being hired.
Written Exam:
This will be conducted in person at a location within the Kendall County Government Campus. The written exam component for the position of Correctional Deputy is designed to measure the applicant’s proficiency in the following areas:
A grade of 70% or higher in each section is necessary for the applicant to pass and continue with the testing process.
C.A.T. Test (Corrections Agility Test):
The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office C.A.T. test will be held on the same day as the written exam and is loosely based on the IL Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board P.O.W.E.R Test. The applicant has one of two options:

For interested applicants there will be an opportunity on Saturday, March 2nd @ 10 AM or Thursday, March 7th @ 5 PM to tour the jail, get questions answered and run through a practice C.A.T. test.
