Goals:

To collaborate daily with the Safety and Security Coordinator for the purpose of growing a safe environment of not only the workplace, but the learning environment of our students.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma (Associates Preferred).
• Good physical health.
• 5+ years of experience (in school setting preferred).
• Demonstrates interest and/or experience working with high school students.
• Prefer training and/or experience in law enforcement, building security operations, employee supervision & organizations, and student control.
• Ability to work harmoniously with staff, students, and parents.
• A high degree of maturity.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Exemplary work record.
• Such other alternatives that may be acceptable to the Board of Education.

Position Summary:

Results oriented high school assistant principal who supports a vibrant school community to accomplish the mission of "Every Student Succeeds" by complementing the Principal in providing leadership in the management of a large comprehensive high school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and monitor Security staff daily.
2. Provide feedback to Head of Security and help evaluate all Security staff on annual basis. Work with Head Of Security to provide goals for Security.
3. Work as a collaborative team member with Head of Security, Administrators, Staff, students, parents and community resources, in efforts to continue the growth in school safety district wide.
4. Assist Head of Security to ensure that Security equipment and systems are in proper working order
5. Assist in creating and adjusting the workday schedule for the security team to provide a safe learning environment.
6. Assist in training incoming security on day to day operations before pairing them with an experienced security guard in the halls.
7. Assist deans and other school administrators with searches.
8. 24/7 on call
9. Work supervision for sporting events and/or after school events.
10. Monitor cameras and periodically walk the halls throughout the day. 

Physical Demands:

This position requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time; ability to use a computer screen for extended periods of time. Lifting, bending, carrying less than 20 lbs expected.

Work Environment:

This position is performed primarily indoors in a traditional school setting, with some outdoor activity expected. Evening and weekend participation is required.
