Firefighter Minimum Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship
• No felony convictions
• Valid driver's license
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 21 to 35 years of age by date of hire unless otherwise exempt by statute
• CPAT and Ladder Climb verification by application deadline (valid if issued 9/19/2021 – 9/19/2022)
• OSFM Illinois Firefighter II or Basic Operations Firefighter Certificate, required by date of hire
• IDPH Paramedic License, required by date of hire 

Testing Instructions:

Your exam will be offered electronically, and you will take the exam in your own home. There will be multiple sessions offered and each will be proctored virtually.

All sessions will be offered the week of May 22nd during business hours – it is your responsibility to ensure you have the flexibility to test during these times.
