Requirements Include:

• Must be currently employed as a full time law enforcement officer in a Sheriff’s Department, Police Department, or other law enforcement agency with at least two (2) years of experience with present agency
• Possess a Certificate from a certified police training academy that complies with the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board
• Must possess proof of successful completion of P.O.W.E.R. Test administered within five (5) years prior to Oral Interview with the Merit Commission
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Possess a valid Driver’s License, and be a United States Citizen
• Must possess a valid FOID card
• Pass background investigation, polygraph and psych test
• Eyesight corrected to 20/20, be free of color blindness
• Must pass an Oral Interview with the Merit Commission.  Applicant will be contacted by phone, and/or email during the first week of February 2022, and advised of Oral Interview date and time.
