Position Details

JOB SUMMARY:

The Part-time Firefighter position protects life and property by performing firefighting, emergency aid, hazardous materials, and fire prevention duties. The Firefighter also maintains fire equipment, apparatus, and facilities. Part-time Firefighters augment the full-time staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

• U.S. Citizen
• Have no felony convictions
• Minimum age of 18
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid State of Illinois Driver's License
• Illinois Firefighter II/Basic Operations Firefighter State Certification
• Licensed as an Illinois Emergency Medical Technician-Basic or
• Licensed as an Illinois Paramedic at time of appointment
• Valid CPAT certificate with ladder climb within the previous 12 months at time of hire 

OTHER INFORMATION:

Scheduled 24-hour shift positions and Non-Scheduled positions available.

Post-offer pre-employment testing will include:

• Interview
• Background check
• Polygraph examination
• Psychological examination
• Physical examination
