The City of Douglas is seeking candidates for a Patrol Officer vacancy who will have experience and knowledge in modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques and equipment, local, state and federal laws, city ordinances and departmental rules and regulations, traffic safety, pursuit, arrest and detention, and emergency medical assistance. The successful candidate will possess the ability to analyze situations quickly, perform work requiring good physical condition, react effectively to emergency and stress situations and communicate through excellent oral and written communications.
This position is a full-time position with a salary range of $38,940 to $56,849. Starting salary is D.O.Q. and lateral transfers are encouraged to apply. Douglas Police officers work fixed 12 hour shifts and have four days off every other week. Each officer is issued their own take-home vehicle and all required equipment. The City of Douglas currently pays the entire family premium for coverage including health, dental and vision insurance. Officers are required to participate in the Wyoming Retirement plan. They also are eligible for and receive retirement health savings, paid vacation and sick & holiday leave. A housing allowance may be considered. A valid Wyoming Class C Driver’s License is required, as well attainment of Basic Training certification.
