CAMPBELL COUNTY JOINT POWERS
FIRE CHIEF
The Campbell County, Wyoming Joint Powers Fire Board is seeking an experienced, highly motivated professional to serve as FIRE CHIEF.
The Fire Department, operating from 10 stations, proudly protects the residents of Campbell County including the Town of Wright and the City of Gillette. This dynamic and progressive County, “Energy Capital of the World”, with a population of 37,000, is located in the high plains of Northeast Wyoming - midway between the Black Hills and the Big Horn Mountains.
This position is responsible for all Fire Department operation services, staff, facilities and activities. Responsibilities include coordination of a career and volunteer staff in the management of wild land fire suppression; structural fire suppression, inspection and investigation; emergency response; local and regional hazmat response; fire prevention; community and regional industrial education; strategic planning and coordination of activities with other departments and agencies.
The successful candidate will have seven to eight years of progressively responsible management experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Science, Business, Public Administration or a related field or an equivalent of education and experience.
