Chippewa County is presently seeking candidates for an ELIGIBILITY LIST for FUTURE Patrol Officer positions within the Sheriff's Department.
Qualifications: High school diploma/equivalent with 60 college credits completed. Must be currently Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB) certified. Must be 21 years of age or older and have a valid Wisconsin driver's license. Prior law enforcement experience is desired. An applicant shall not have been convicted of any felony or any offense which, if committed in Wisconsin, could be punished as felony unless the judgment or conviction has been reversed or a complete pardon has been granted.
Residency Requirements: Must be a resident of Chippewa County within (6) months of successful completion of probationary period and maintain residency thereafter during employment. Take home squad car with restriction of residency within an assigned area as determined by the Sheriff.
Note: Successful applicants must pass a written exam, oral interviews and an extensive background investigation. The successful finalist must pass drug and psychological screening and a related physical examination.
An eligibility list will be established from this recruitment for future vacancies for up to 12 months or as the Chief Examiner determines.
