The City of
Round Rock, Texas (est. pop 80,000) is seeking a Police Chief.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced senior law enforcement individual with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in criminal justice, public administration or related field, plus (8) eight years experience in police work which includes (5) five years in a command position (Captain's level or above).
Plans and directs all programs, activities and functions of the department; implements policies and objectives of the City Manager and City Council as they relate to law enforcement operations. Departmental Budget is over $13M with a staff of 120 sworn personnel and 50 support staff.
The selected individual must possess a knowledge and understanding of contemporary policing methodologies and the philosophy of community policing. Experience based leadership, supervisory, communication and administrative skills a must.
Must be licensed as a Peace Officer by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) or must obtain within one year of employment.
Salary starting at $8,750 monthly ($105,000 annually) depending on qualification and experience.
