Immediate opening for Police Officer with Civil Service testing on Saturday August 27, 2016 at Columbus Fire Station 1459 26 Avenue.

Beginning base rate of pay, excluding overtime pay, shift differential and education & quartermaster payments is approximately $40,000 a year.

Captain Thalken must receive application forms no later than Wednesday August 24, 2016.

 

 

The application process will involve:

  • Employment application

  • Testing and interviews

  • Intensive background investigation

 

Applicants must:

  • Be 21 years of age

  • Have a high school diploma or GED

  • Have a valid Driver's License

  • Have no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions

  • Be of good moral character

  • Be in good physical condition

Nebraska law enforcement certification is preferred but not necessary.

 

Non-certified applicants must be able to meet the NLETC qualifications to be accepted for basic training.


This competitive testing begins at 8:30 a.m. and includes a written civil service exam, physical agility test and with the higher scoring candidates participating in a Columbus Civil Service Commission interviews that start in the late afternoon. Bring DD214 for Veteran Credit.
