The
internationally-accredited Winston-Salem Police Department employs 504 sworn
officers and 167 civilians and is located in the 4th largest city in North
Carolina. As a Police Officer Trainee, you will be paid full salary while
receiving comprehensive training through the WSPD's Basic Law Enforcement
Training program.
Upon completion of the recruit training, you will be responsible for protective
services work as well as the prevention, detection and investigation of crimes.
This work may involve personal risk and requires sound, independent judgment in
all situations. The department provides all uniforms and equipment.
In addition, patrol officers who live within the Forsyth County limits will
receive a take-home patrol car. The City provides numerous employee benefits as

Qualifications:
U.S. Citizen
Possess a High School Diploma or
G.E.D.
Be at least 21 years of age
Be of good moral character, having no
felony convictions, serious misdemeanors or DWI's within the past 5 years
Must be in good physical condition
Have or be able to obtain a North
Carolina driver's license
