This position supplements the full-time patrol force and is responsible for the
protection of the life and property, prevention of crime, apprehension of
criminals, and the enforcement of laws and ordinances. A significant portion of
time involves public contact where discretion and tact is conscientiously
exercised. Duties are performed in accordance with police procedures, practices,
standards, general orders, and regulations.
Patrols to observe,
prevent, or terminate unlawful acts.
Assists in transporting,
booking and monitoring prisoners.
Responds to traffic or
other accidents. Secures scene; gives first aid and calls for medical
assistance. Collects evidence, information and completes reports.
Enforces parking restrictions, conducts crowd control, and prevents blockage of

Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board certified Police Officer
Must have prior
experience as a Police Officer and left past Department in good standing.
Must be willing to work
flexible hours (days, afternoon, nights, weekdays, weekends, holidays).
Knowledge of applicable
federal, state and local civil and criminal statutes and ordinances.
May not be employed as a
commissioned Police Officer at another governmental agency.
Ability to meet physical
Ability to exercise
independent judgment and render objective decisions.
Ability to complete
accurate reports, maintain required certifications.
Have a valid Class D
Illinois driverís license.
Schedule and hours:
A variety of shifts,
including weekend and holidays with a minimum of 24 hours per month.
$22.00 per hour
