Police Officer for the

Village of Wauconda Police Department

 

 

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners will begin to accept application for testing for the position of Police Officer with the Village of Wauconda Police Department.

The Fire and Police Commission will accept application from August 15, 2011 through September 15, 2011.

 

 

The Village of Wauconda is located in west central Lake County about 45 miles northwest of the City of Chicago.  As the Village undergoes rapid growth, the Wauconda Police Department is looking for the best people available to become Police Officers.  Future growth, advancement potential, salary and benefits are considered excellent.

 

 

Except as otherwise provided by statute, applicants must:

  • Be 21 and less than 35 at the time of the last date for filing application

  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent

Applicants must be in good physical condition and will be required to pass a written test, fitness test, and an oral examination.  After conditional offer of employment is made, successful candidates must pass comprehensive medical and psychological tests, polygraph test and background investigations prior to appointment.

 

 

Attendance at an orientation meeting is MANDATORY for all candidates.
