The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners will begin to accept applications for testing for the position of Police Officer with the Village of Wauconda Police Department.

There is a $25.00 application fee, paid at the time of picking up the application packet. The Fire and Police Commission will accept applications from June 29, 2007 to August 17, 2007.

 

The Village of Wauconda is located in west central Lake County about 45 miles northwest of the City of Chicago. As the Village undergoes rapid growth, the Wauconda Police Department is looking for the best people available to become Police Officers. Future growth, advancement potential, salary and benefits are considered excellent.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Except as otherwise provided by statute, applicants must be 21 and less than 35 at the time of the last date for filing application

  • Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Applicants must be in good physical condition and will be required to pass a written test, fitness test, and oral examination

  • After conditional offer of employment is made, successful candidates must pass comprehensive medical, polygraph test, psychological tests, and background investigations prior to appointment

 

Attendance at an orientation meeting is MANDATORY for all candidates.

Thursday August 23, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.

 


The fitness testing will be conducted on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Wauconda Park District beginning at 7:00 A.M. and the written examination will be conducted on Saturday August 25, 2007 at 9:00 A.M.
