Duties:

• Patrols City

• Assist with prisoners

• Responds to calls

• Secures scene

• Collects information/completes reports

• Directs traffic

• Enforces parking restrictions

• Operates radar unit

• Issues warnings/citations

• Other police related duties

Requirements:

• Graduation from high school or GED

• Completion of State of Illinois basic recruit academy and meets requirements for Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board for certified police officer

• Prior police experience as a full-time police officer in State of Illinois

• Annually pass Firearms Course

• Possession of valid Class D driver’s license

Candidates may not be employed as a commissioned police officer at another agency.

Schedule: variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays with a minimum of 24 hours per month.

This is a part-time, permanent position with no benefits.
