LAW ENFORCEMENT

 

Board of Fire and Police Commission Thornton, IL is now seeking applicants for:

 

Police Officer

Lateral Hiring

 

 

Starting Salary:

 

$45,908 based on years of service

 

 

Each qualified applicant will be subject to

the following point allocation:

 

The maximum total points attainable are fifty (50).

 

Education Points:

  • Associates Criminal Justice - 5.0

  • Bachelors Criminal Justice - 10.0

  • Masters or above Criminal Justice - 15.0

 

Experience Points:

  • .5 (1/2) for each six months of Continuous service, not to exceed 5

 

Oral Interview:

  • 25 points maximum

 

At the time of application, applicants must have, within the last 5 years, a minimum 2 consecutive years full time experience as a police officer within

the same agency, and must be certifiable by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.

 

Applicants who are placed on the eligibility list will be subject to medical, drug, vision polygraph and psychological examinations prior to hiring.
