9-1-1 TELECOMMUNICATOR

Starting Pay:

$39,661.00 - $45,636.00 Annually Depending on Qualifications

Southwest Central Dispatch is a consolidated 9-1-1 Communications Center serving eighteen (19) departments. Twelve (12) police departments and seven (7) fire departments.   

Requirements:

• H.S. diploma or equivalent (with college preferred)

• Understand and speak fluent English

• Successfully pass two (2) tests and an oral interview

• Excellent communication/customer service skills

• Valid Driver’s License

• The ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure

• Candidates must pass an in-depth background investigation, and psychological and medical examinations. Including vision, hearing and drug testing

• Must be able to work ALL SHIFTS and must work weekends, holidays, and may be assigned a rotating shift and day off key

• Good keyboard skills and a working knowledge of Windows

• Willing to devote at least ten (10) weeks to classroom training from 0800-1600 Hours, Monday through Friday
